20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

|
The
viewport Aquarium. It is somewhat doubtful that this
was ever used in any movies after 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. The
crack is most likely either from having something sitting on top
of it for decades, or that it was one of several made and was
damaged during the filming of the aftermath of the attack on the
Rorapandi Slave Ship. A Quicktime movie will be available
shortly. The arguments for both are quite strong. Disney
would not sell something that they do not have multiple copies
of (witness the Rocketeer and Tron items on eBay recently), so
it would not be the least bit surprising if there were another
two of these in pristine condition still in storage. On
the other hand...heavy objects stacked on top of glass can break
glass...
So who knows? This aquarium sold at auction for two thousand and eight hundred dollars. It now makes its home in Lagunal Niguel in Southern California. |
