This
is the original Pipe Organ from the salon set in 20,000 Leagues
Under the Sea. As the story goes, Harper Goff knew
he needed an organ for the salon set but could not find a
suitable one anywhere. So he turned to the classified
ads where he found one for sale. It was sitting
in a garage in the Valley and, according to its seller, was
not working (no organ without pipes or a bellows works as
far as I know). Goff asked how much the person
wanted for it. Well, fifty dollars later it was
in the salon set at the Disney Studios. After the
Leagues Exhibit in Disneyland was removed in '66, the organ
migrated into the ghost ballroom of the Haunted Mansion attraction
in New Orleans Square, where it can still be seen today.
