Thing 00,010: Star Trek The Experience

The Star Trek Experience, Las Vegas, Nevada

Star Trek The Experience was part of a big push in Las Vegas toward the end of the 1990’s and early 2000’s to family-oriented entertainment to Sin City, in order to attract a more diverse crowd.  Sadly, after some tragic events along the strip, this new vision of Las Vegas was quickly and for the most part, removed, and it went back to being what it was best at:  Sin.

Thing 00,009: The Movieland Wax Museum

The Movieland Wax Museum, Buena Park California

Back before the days of Planet Hollywood (and even those days are passing us by), the way you got to see scenes from your favorite movies and television in real life, was at a wax museum.

Thing 00,008: The British Museum

The British Museum

The British Museum is, as museums go, rather incredible.  The museum’s collection is about as good as it gets without going to the actual countries the crown took from in order to stock the museum, but hey, it’s all in the past. Continue reading

Every Day Boz Kit

I am in the process of considering going back to school, and decided I needed to “class” it up a bit before I do.  You know, because hipster.

Thing 00,005: Last Concept Cars of the 1990s

© Christian B Adams

Concept cars are awesome.  Well, all concept cars are awesome (except maybe for the Pontiac Aztek).  I have always been a massive fanboy of concept cars.  In my recent photo dump where I nearly lost 20+ years’ worth of photos, I came across pictures I took at the Los Angeles International Auto Show in 1999 and 2000 of several concept cars from Chrysler, Ford, GM, and others that gives you an OK look at the design ethos of the Big Three toward the end of the 1990s, and more importantly, the 20th century.

Thing 00,004: Quirky Porkfolio Piggy Bank

Quirky Porkfolio

I love this little device.  It is, as advertised, a “smart” piggy bank that connects to an app on your iPhone or Android phone to show you your balance inside its gut.  The only problem I’ve had with it thus far is that as soon as it arrived, all of my change that was lying around, disappeared.

What’s up with that I say!

Thing 00,003: Classic Cars at Pelican Hill

I had the great fortune to grow up in Newport Beach in Southern California.  It’s a city occupied primarily by contractors, bankers, lawyers, and high-class cons.  What do they all have in common?  Classic Cars.

Lots and lots and lots of classic cars.

Thing 00,002: A Keychain Bottle Opener

jlLawsonKeyChainBottleOpenerHeader

Everyone needs a good keychain bottle opener.

I know it’s hip to open a bottle of beer with anything but a bottle opener, but you know what?  I’d rather have a bottle opener on my keychain.  It’s just so much easier.  I’m a beer drinker.  You might even call me a “Beerier.”  Something I’d had been looking for for some time, was a compact keychain bottle opener that I could attach to my keys so that I’d never find myself in a bind when offered a beer by a friend or stranger.  Or family member.  Or baby.  Or Parakeet.  Especially parakeets, they’re always trying to get me to drink beer.  Always.

Thing 00,001: The Audi A3 TDi S Line

While I spend my hours clicking and dragging recovered (for the most part) images from one folder to another, how about a post about something to pass the time?  In this case:  My rental car from my most recent trip to Europe, which was an Audi A3 TDi S Line.

I drove the heck out of this GREAT LOOKING hot hatch from Germany to Switzerland to France and got a really good sense about what it was about.  More after the break.
