Past Thoughts: The Daft Punk Pop Up at Maxfield Gallery

About a year ago, the electronic music group Daft Punk opened a pop up shop at Maxfield Gallery in Los Angeles. In addition to offering ridiculous apparel that only trust fund hypebeasts would be caught dead in, the pop up also served as a museum, displaying an astonishing array of artifacts from the duo’s creative output over the past 25 years.

Movie Thoughts: Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2

Whereas the first Guardians of the Galaxy was fun and funny and really entertaining and had heart and wit and a great playlist and that intangible energy that makes you love it, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was just really enjoyable. You know, like when your uber driver is an architect by day and drives a Saab.

On a recent visit to the Petersen Automotive Museum, I was inspired to write this little fictional limerick about Norman Bent after seeing his shop tricycle (referred to in the day as a “traffic car.”
